Udupi Diocese - Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh organizes Elocution Competition

Udupi,18 Nov 2013:  Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Central Committee organized Udupi Diocese level Elocution competitions at Milagres College, Kallianpur near here on Sunday 17th November, 2013. After the establishment of the new diocese,  Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh first ever elocution competition held.

First and second place winners of unit level competitions were qualified for the Deanery level and first and second place winners of deanery levels were qualified for diocese level. Competitions were held for Konkani and Kannada elocutions  competitions into four categories according to the age.

After the successful competitions prize distribution program was held at Milagres College Conference Hall. Kiran Elroy Crasto President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh presided the occasion. Robert Furtado Entrepreneur and Ivan D’Silva President of ICYM Udupi Diocese were the chief guests. Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves  Spiritual Director of the Central Committee, Leslie Aroza Co-Ordinator of Youth Commission, Udupi Diocese, Dr. Gerald Pinto former Presient of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh & Co-Ordinator of Elocution Competitions Central Committee, Mary D’Souza Secretary of Central Committee, Walter Cyril Pinto Past President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh,  Benedicta Menezes President of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Deanery, Rev Fr. Wilson D’Souza Asst Parish Priest of Udupi Church and Felciana Lewis President of Milagres Cathedral unit were present on the dais.

 

Speaking on the occasion Robert Furtado the chief guest said that the competition like elocution which will be platform for the development of one’s personality. Catholic Sabha organizes such competitions since past years encourages our community surely help them lot.

Ivan D’Silva called catholic sabha to organize various competitions along with ICYM can helps our community at large. Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves also spoke and blessed the occasion. Kiran Elroy Crasto gave his presidential address and said that elocution competitions can influence us to various fields like leadership, personality development and many more.

Prior to the program Dr. Gerald Pinto Co-ordinator of the occasion welcomed the gatherings and later read out the winners of the competition. Mary D’Souza proposed vote of thanks while Alwyn Quados compered the program. Around 78 children participated in competition. Parents, officials and others were present during the competition. Prizes, medals and certificates were given to the winners. Rolling Shield also presented to first winner of the competitions for all categories.
