Udupi: Gangolli woman Mangala Kharvi was murdered reveal Police

Kundapur, 17 Nov 2013: Kundapur Police have been successful in cracking the death mystery of Mangala Kharvi (36) whose body was found shores of Maravanthe, behind Sea Land Hotel on September 20. The Police revealed that it Mangala was murdered and had not committed suicide as stated earlier. Further it has also been revealed that illicit affair resulted in her murder. Satish Kharvi (25), son of Mangala’s husband’s uncle has been arrested by the Police.
Mangala, an agri gold agent was fisherman Raja Kharvi of Tarimane in Gangolli.
On September 15 Mangala who had gone to visit her relatives had told her husband that she would visit Udupi on September 17 to pay Agrigold funds. However she went missing after September 17. On enquiry the locals had told the Police that they had seen her alighting from a bus at Gangolli a day before her body was found.
It is said that Mangala developed relation with Satish after he agreed to beget a child. Even after several years of marriage Mangala and Raju couple were issueless which led Mangala to turn towards Satish. Even as their affair continued Satish is said to have got engaged to a girl. Mangala who was determined not to leave him started blackmailing him. Fed up her constant torture Satish decided to eliminate her.
The day before she was murdered Mangala and Satish are said to have travelled to Udupi and later caught a bus to Shastri circle in the evening. After alighting from there they went to Trasi beach where an argument is said to have taken place between the two. Satish who was already tormented by Mangala in a fit of rage is said to have strangled her with her saree and threw are in the beach and returned back home.
Her post-mortem reports had revealed that she was murdered. The Police who had initially caught Satish had released him after questioning. However the Police who ahd kept an eye on Satish grew more suspicious. Later after they checked his call records and checked the CCTV footages at Maravanthe and Udupi and revelations made by Satish helped Police to determine that he was the murderer.
Satish was produced in the Court on Saturday, November 16.
