Mangalore: ICYM Moodubelle Unit Wins Naveen Memorial Volleyball Tournament

Mangalore, 11 Nov 2013: The ICYM Volleyball Team of Moodubelle became the champions of the Naveen Memorial Volleyball Tournament held by the ICYM Unit of Ferrar Parish in memory of late Naveen who himself was an excellent volleyball player and an exemplary coach. The tournament was held on Saturday, 9 November 2013 during the nighttime from 9 pm in floodlit ground that ended at 7.30 am the next day, Sunday, 10 November 2013.
Volleyball teams of 20 parishes from the twin diocese of Mangalore and Udupi participated in this tournament. The tournament was held on the basis of knock out counting best of three sets of matches. The ICYM Volleyball Team from Moodubelle eventually emerged as champions of this tournament defeating the ICYM Team of Pernal Parish who emerged as runners up.
The family of late Naveen had sponsored the trophies and prizes of the tournament. While the Moodubelle Team was declared as the champions and Pernal team as runners-up, individual prizes were awarded on the basis of their best performance. Best Passer-Andrew (Moodubelle), Best Smasher-Brendon (Pernal) and Best All-rounder-Vivian (Moodubelle).
The ICYM Moodubelle Team comprised of Loyd(Captain),Vivian, Lionel, Andrew, Aron, Melvin, Deril, Raxon, Glenjoy, Nevil and Raju.

| Parishioner, you are imagining a perfect world without involvement, only dictating. More often than not people those do not contribute are worst critics. Nobody challenges your destiny as you belong to parish. You dig an isolated incident in Apolitical church. Every adult opposed(including qualified and non), an apology and matter closed and now dusted. That is integrity of our parish for the right cause. You are calling people to change according to your imagination!?, hurting and nullifying those are non graduate non rtd (teacher)! What is the guarantee that all retired teachers and graduates are honest and dedicated??? Few may love to stay far and watch the fun?? My friend, education is more important than qualification. People without big qualification, yet matured and visionary have done wonders worldwide! Most of the people in parish council are parents for somebody! Ridiculing them is bad taste!! Charity and donation is always an individual choice. I never heard any force regarding this. | Citizen Belle writing the real answer. If you are not there to be in parish council and develop the church and also prayers. Have the commenting people have guts to join the choir, catholic sabha etc and keep the church things up to date. More over have courage to catch the night vigils of the people to different houses for birthday parties... | |

| Parishioner, Moodubelle, This is too much. Please do not advise pre-qualification to be part of church admn. Few commenters here on this topic reside outside and faraway and advising. Part of few are immature. Can we neglect our parents if they are below SSLC or not graduates??? Come to parish be a part of process and feel the feasibility. While I admit, trophies should be preserved, expecting too much from parish council as a fine finish without our participation and to our expectation is tough ask. People residing abroad should visit church authority on the subject of our concern(please include Grotto issue also) will ease situation. We are too busy and too many functions during our vacation to home town right??? While we are nostalgic about our youth time, we should also understand and consider generation gap and percentage of youth and middle age people residing in metros as well as abroad for better future. | Thanks Julian what you said 100 percent right there is no doubt at all You are the lucky person at list B/V put your comment sometime they act like silent spectator We love our parish but something is not right we have a right to mention for that These trophies are earned not gifted Our past and present Church Governing Council leaders are Matric passed candidates What they know about Tropy or Grotto they acts like a popped. Leaders should be a Retired teacher or graduate at least they can give some good advice to the church committee!! | |

All are (including priests) busy collecting money for new unwanted projects so that they can frame their own name in the marble. | Martis your opinion is highly appreciated and you have raised very valid point here. We have won many trophies during 90s in CYM and it is very disappointing to know that Belle parish council misplaced them. Trophies may outdated but wining any tournament or trophies is not so easy the way our parish council thinks! It requires lot of practice, dedication and hard work to win anything for that matter. Hearty congratulations to Belle Catholic youths. Guys you keep this trophy at your Captains house as a remembrance of your glorious victory and don't handover to Belle Church where there is no value or respect for it | |
