Mumbai: Indian Tradition has Greater Significance to Mudras – Prakash Burde

Mumbai, 11 Nov 2013: The book release function of Dr Mariyappa Natekar which was published by metro-based Abhijit Publication was held at Samarasa auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West) here on Saturday November 9 evening.


 
Mumbai University head of department of Kannada Dr G N Upadhya after releasing the fourth poetry book of Dr Mariyappa Natekar, said that the author is one among the young writers among top Dalits.  Dr Natekar has successfully narrated the agonies and joys of Dalits in his poetry.  He was fortunate to release a poetry book of upcoming poet who has already made his mark.  He hoped Dr Natekar whose honest nature will bring out many more poetry books, said Dr Upadhya. 


 
The journalist and poet Srinivas Jokatte read the forewords of poetry book.


 
Odiyoor Gurudev Seva Balaga – Maharashtra unit secretary Petemane Prakash Shetty after releasing seventeenth Kannada edition of ‘Mudra Science and Health’ authored by Suman K Chiplunkar said that the book authored by Chiplunkar made record sale as that of celeb rity books in English, said Shetty.

Karnataka Sangh president Prakash G Burde released DVD of Ancient Indian Mudras that was produced by Times Wellness of Times of India on the same occasion.


 
Speaking on the occasion, Prakash Burde said that mudras have greater significance in Indian traditional practices.  The mudras help in focusing bodily energy to combat the illness, said Prakash.  He also commended the health concern of Times of India in producing DVD on mudras in the interest of society.


 
Susheela Devadiga rendered the prayers.  Mumbai University head of department of Kannada and Abhijit Publication proprietor Dr G N Upadhya welcomed the gathering.  Poornima Shetty compered the programme.  Karnataka Sangh  honorary chief secretary Omdas Kannangar proposed vote of thanks.
