Mumbai: Jaya N Shetty unanimously elected as Prez of Karnataka Sangh Chembur

Mumbai, 9 Nov 2013: The renowned social activist Jaya N Shetty was unanimously elected as new president of Karnataka Sangh – Chembur during the annual general body meeting held here recently.

H K Sudhakar (vice president), Gunakar H Hegde (honorary chief secretary), T R Shetty (Timmappa R Shetty (joint secretary), Yogesh V Gujaran (honorary treasurer) and Rama Poojary (joint treasurer).
About Jaya N Shetty
Jaya is the native of Madhyguttu near Suratkal in Dakshina Kannada district. He migrated to metro in search of green pastures in his childhood, pursued studies and became a successful entrepreneur. He was instrumental in founding Bombay Bunts Association in 1982 and served in different capacities since the past 3 decades. He will have a greater role in the Association as it has plans to set up new law college.
An executive Committee comprising 15 members was also formed on the occasion. Devdas Shetty, K R Suvarna and L K Karkera conducted the proceedings.
Karnataka Sangh that was set up in the suburban Chembur 6 decades ago, began a play school, higher secondary colleges in Kannada, English and Marathi mediums and earned the patronage being the most reputed institutions by the state education department. Its Kannada medium schools are registering top results and its students are also excelling in sports.
