Kundapur: Promising Cricketer Umesh Karvi (27) Dies in Road Mishap at Bangalore

Kundapur, 27 Oct 2013: Twenty-seven-year-old Umesh Karvi, a talented young cricketer of city, died in a ghastly road mishap on West Chord Road, Bangalore.
Umesh was lone son of Madhu and Yashodha Karvi couple, residing at Maddugudde, here. He is survived by 3 sisters.
Umesh was employed in Bangalore-based EMC Square Software enterprise because of his cricketing talent.
Umesh was riding his Bullet motorcycle along with his roommate Mitun Karvi on West Chord Road, Rajaji Nagar, Bangalore on Saturday October 26 night, when he lost control over the motorcycle crashed into the divider, crossed over the road and hit a tree besides the road. The skull of Umesh was severed since he did not wear helmet, which caused his untimely death. His pillion rider Mitun was miraculously survived in the mishap.
Umesh played for well known cricket clubs in Bangalore. He also represented India in under 19 years cricket tourney. He was a fast bowler since 7 years, who bagged 2 wickets in the match played between India and Pakistan in under 19 cricket tourney.
Umesh was interviewed by the selectors to represent Karnataka in the upcoming Ranji cricket tournament. He was the alumnus of St Joseph’s School, here, who was a great hope for cricket in his hometown.
