Mumbai: Ryan Hosts another record Breaking International Event in Metro

Mumbai, Oct 22, 2013 : Nearly 1,500 students from over 70 schools across India participated in the prestigious World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) hosted by the Ryan International Group of Institutions here from recently.
The overwhelming response with record breaking participation from the students is now the largest ever regional round in the history of the World Scholar’s Cup.
Ryan International Group managing director Grace Pinto inaugurated the event.
World Scholar’s Cup founder Daniel Berdichevsky and Ryan International Group CEO Ryan Pinto were present on the dais.
A special enclosure was custom built to host this event. This was the first of its kind of scholastic extravaganza hosted in the metro. The Ryan Group once again broke new ground by organizing an event of this scale.
Five-hundred teams participated in various scholastic events which tested their inter-disciplinary skills in an engaging way. ‘It was amazing to witness the enthusiasm amongst the young students to explore and learn newer concepts in a global perspective which ultimately culminated in harmony and camaraderie,’ expressed Grace Pinto, ‘It was indeed a celebration of learning, academic interaction and community building,’ said Grace Pinto.
The World Scholar’s Cup was graced by the eminent guests which included Indian economist and Rajya Sabha member Balchandra Mungekar, Mumbai University vice-chancellor Rajan Welukar, bollywood celebrity Vikram Gokhale, Doordarshan director Mukesh Sharma, renowned singer Madushri, well known choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and others.
Over the course of the three-day event, teams debated pressing global issues related to the theme. They worked together to research and write papers on topics covering various subjects they had explored all year long. They demonstrated their skills to connect history, science, art, literature, social studies, etc through exciting features which include the team debate, scholar’s bowl, collaborative writing, the scholar’s challenge and many more brain-stimulating activities. Winning was not end but learning was the ultimately end.
Speaking at the event, Ryan Pinto said, ‘Our students have been brilliant at Singapore, Dubai and Bangkok earlier. With our progressive global approach to education, we are proud to host the World Scholar’s Cup in India for the second time and have set a new international record with 1500 participants,’ said Ryan.
Daniel Berdichevsky said, ‘The response to this India round is absolutely overwhelming-the spirit of scholarship, the sense of community, the sheer numbers: we’ve never had an event like it,’ said Daniel.
Networking and community-building events were at the heart of this WSC. It takes you beyond your school curriculum and every student is proud to be a part of it. Truly, at the end of such a large event it can be very well said that every student is a scholar and the future belong to them. It was here that one could witness the global community of today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.
