Karkal: Priests need to have worldly, spiritual knowledge – Vedamurti Bhat

Karkal, 15 Oct 2013: In the life of an individual, truth, religion and justice plays key role.  The advices given with good intentions had to be incorporated in life.  It’s essential that, among the priestly community, they should have both worldly and spiritual knowledge, said Vedamurti K Vedavyasaraya Bhat, senior priest of Sri Durgaparameshwari temple, Bantakal, near here.


Vedamurti K Vedavyasaraya was speaking during the valedictory function of seven-day camp on early morning puja and personality development that was held on the occasion of Sharannavaratri celebrations, at Sri Umamaheshwar temple, Adapady and Sri Durgaparameshwari temple, Bantakal, here on Monday October 14.  It was jointly organized by Rajapura Saraswat Brahmin Sangh Palli ® and the temples.

 
The temple trustee Pundalika Nayak after felicitating Sriraksha, a student studying in Mangalore who has won the top place in the recently held national level arts competition, said that one should aspire to achieve significant and aim to be helpful to the fellowmen in life, said Pundalika.

 


The resource person Vedamurti Mrugesh Bhat said that the early morning puja is the base for all the vedic celebrations.
The camp officer Sadashiv Nayak Vittal, Karkal – Bhuvanendra College principal Y Panduranga Nayak, Manipal – Narasinge temple managing trustee Anand Nayak conveyed best wishes to the camp participants.

 
Kaivalya mutt manager Vedamurti Uday Prabhu in his presidential address said that the parents and elders play greater role in following the vedic rites of early morning that was taught during the camp in their homes.

 
Babanna Wagle Hirgana, Kadari Ravindra Prabhu, Rajaram Nayak, Shalini Kamat Mangalore, Dr Janardhan Nayak were present on the occasion.


Rajapura Saraswat Brahmin Sangh Palli ® president Ranjit Bhat welcomed the gathering.  Ajit Kamat read the report.  Ravindra Patkar spoke on behalf of parents.  Jayant Nayak and Anirudd Prabhu shared their camp experiences.  Santosh Nayak Dadabettu introduced the guests.  The teacher Devdas Nayak compered the programme.  The temple priest Vishnu Prasad Bhat proposed vote of thanks.
