Kundapur: Bishop Dr Gerald I Lobo of Udupi inaugurates Deanery Jeevan Jyoti Camp

Kundapur, 8 Oct 2013: Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo inaugurated Kundapur deanery Jeevan Jyoti camp, four-day career guidance camp for Class X students at St Joseph’s School, here on Monday October 7 morning. The theme is being ‘Secured steps with Jesus’ light.’
A total of 117 students are partaking in the camp.
Kundapur civil judge Pinky D’Sa was the chief guest of the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Pinky said that she was fortunate to attend the same camp that has indeed secured her future. She urged the camp participants to shape their own future by taking the lead from the camp, urged Pinky.
Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Anil D’Souza said sunrises in the dawn giving sunshine to the mankind, similarly noon gives a little in night besides electric light. Similarly, let the Jeevan Jyoti camp bring hope to all the participants to carve out better future with Jesus into their hearts, said Fr Anil.
Bishop Dr Gerald after releasing the handbook on Jeevan Jyoti camp said that teachings of Jesus Christ indeed changed the evil doers to lead better lives. All those who attend the camp should be drawn to light from ignorance to lead dignified life. The prime time of their life should be utilized to carve out better future with the feedbacks from resource persons at the camp, said Bishop Dr Gerald.
Basroor parish priest Fr Vishal Lobo, Pius Nagar parish priest Fr Walter Mendonca, Tallur parish priest Fr Sunil Veigas, Trasi parish priest Fr Anil Cornelio, St Joseph’s Convent superior Sr Vibha, Dr Sony D’Costa, representatives Mitchell Olivera, Denzel Dias were present at the dais.
Bishop Dr Gerald appreciated the members of Kundapur deanery Catholic Stree self-help-groups who volunteered from the parishes of Kundapur, Tallur, Pius Nagar and Basroor in preparing food and serve the camp participants on the occasion.
The camp began with the prayers from participants, followed by welcome dance by the girls. St Mary’s PU College principal Fr Praveen Amrut Martis welcomed the gathering. Jennifer D’Sa proposed vote of thanks.
