Mulund - Satyadhyana Vidhya Peet correspondent Vidhyasimha Acharya inaugurated the workshop on Yedapadav Ramamurti Tantri stage of Shabaroor – Hayagreeva Tantri Mantap with the blessings of Swami Vishveshateerta of Pejavar mutt.
Vidhyasimha in his inaugural address said that of late the people are disregarding cultural traditions and practices.  It’s not right.  One becomes humane only by following the moral values that stood by the time, said Vidhyasimha.  He also explained how the ancient astronomers expertly analyzed the changes in outer sky without any gadgets.

Saligrama – Gurunarasimha Sanskrit Institute teacher Dr Nitilapura Krishnamurti, the litterateur and researcher Dr Srivatsa Vati from Beloor – Hassan, National Sanskrit Vidhya Peet – Tirupati Professor Dr Sripada Bhat, SMSP Sanskrit Institute – Udupi assistant professor Dr Shivaprasad Tantri, Kateel temple trustee and scholar Ananta Asranna and others were the resource persons.

Ananta Asranna said that astronomy is a serious issue because astrology is based on astronomy.  A few astrologers have brought disgrace to the profession because of inappropriate study.  The ancient sages wrote astronomy formulas in palm manuscripts. Ujain in the ancient times was the center of astronomy studies.  The precious manuscripts of contemporary times were destroyed by the conquerors from time to time.  There lies differences of opinions among astrologers that has to be addressed by discussions during the different workshops, said Asranna.

Dr Shivaprasad Tantri said that the general conception is that the planetary moments bring difficulties or calamities on mankind.  It’s not true.  The planetary movements indeed alert the mankind to do good and turns our mind into positivity.
The workshop organizer H B L Rao said that the little learned astrologers have brought disgrace to profession.   The need of the hour is to clear the misconceptions by logical means.  The workshop is aimed in creating general awareness on astronomy and astrology, said Rao.

Dr G N Upadhya welcomed the gathering.  Narayan Amrut Foundation chairman N R Rao felicitated entrepreneur Sudhir R L Shetty.  Vedamurti Durgaprasad Bhat rendered the prayers.  Sahana Poti and friends presented welcome song.  Vidwan Ramdas Upadhyaya introduced the guests.  The advocate Amita Bhagawat, proposed vote of thanks.
