Udupi: St Mary’s College, Shirva donates 104 Units of Blood to District Hospital

Udupi, 14 Sep 2013: Lions Club – Shirva, near here organized twenty-first annual blood camp at St Mary’s College, Shirva, here on Thursday September 12.
Lions Club – Shirva president Lancy Corda was the chief guest inaugurated the camp here on Thursday morning.
The district hospital blood bank director Dr Sharat Kumar stressed on the need of blood donation. He also appealed to every healthy individual to donate the blood in saving the life critical patients, appealed Dr Sharat Kumar.
St Mary’s College principal Professor Rajan V N in his presidential address urged the students to be active in social service by donating their blood, urged Professor Rajan.
The College NCC, NSS, youth Red Cross Cell, office bearers of students union, MSW, M Com and others students voluntarily donated their blood on the occasion.
NCC officer Praveen Kumar, NSS officer Ajit D’Mello, Professor Ratnavati Ferrao and Lions Club – Shirva secretary Stanley D’Souza were present on the occasion.
Ankit Siddiq compered the programme. A total of 104 unit of blood was collected and hand over to district blood bank.
