Udupi: ZP CEO Prabhakar Sharma Exhorts Teachers role in Making Udupi District as Educational Hub

Udupi, 07 Sep, 2013 : Udupi district has a distinct place in the nation. Udupi district has contributed significantly in education sphere. The hard work of teacher is significant in making Udupi district at the forefront in education sphere in the entire state, said Udupi zilla panchayat CEO S A Prabhakar Sharma.
Sharma was the chief guest speaking during Teacher’s Day celebration that was organized by Rotary Club - Shirva, near here at Rotary auditorium located at Bantakal, here on Thursday August 5.
Sharma further said that education is the benchmark for the development of any state. The teachers play key role in shaping the model society. The teachers need to develop mental aptitude, physical stamina and spiritual bliss to face the challenges of their profession in the changed times, said Sharma.
Sharma also commended the social welfare activities of Rotary Club International (RCI) because the district administration has cordial relations with RCI.
Kalattoor – P K S High School retired head master Venugopal M, St Mary’s Pre-University College retired principal Felix Andrade, Bantakal School retired teacher Subramanya Nayak, Kodu Panjimar School retired teachers Laxman Nayak and Anthony Nazareth were felicitated on the same occasion.
RCI zonal assistant governor Madhav Suvarna released Rotary bulletin ‘Mallika’ during the programme. The bulletin editor Edwin Rodrigues was also present.
Pamboor parish priest Fr Paul Rego, Corporation Bank Shirva branch manager Pramanand Bhat, Corporation Bank Pernal branch manager Deviprasad K, State Bank of Mysore Shirva assistant branch manager Edwin Ignatius Rodrigues, Canara Bank Shirva branch manager V K Anantakrishna were welcomed to join Rotary Club.
RCI president Leo Noronha presided the programme and welcomed the gathering.
B Pundalika Marate, Dr Gururaj and Lucas D’Souza introduced the dignitaries. The vocation service director William Machado read the citation letters. Raghupati Ithal proposed vote of thanks. Dr Arun Hegde compered the programme.
