Mangalore: Aatid Radd Dina an unique special feast celebrated at Panambur Beach

Mangalore,13 August 2013 : Rotary Club of Mangalore Central organized an unique seasonal festival‘Aatid Radd Dina,’ It is special festival wherein all the traditional sweets are prepared and distributed among neighbours, friends and relatives. It is bond of sweet love among all Mangaloreans without bais, cast, creed or religion and only one unique in our Mangalore.
The festival/program was inaugurated by Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Mangalore inaugurated at the Panambur Beach on August 9, Friday attended by large number of people and it highlighted the significance of the month of Aati.
Mr. Nalin Kumar appreciated Rotary Club Mangalore Central for their efforts in organizing the unique traditional festival, which he said would go a long way in enlightening the masses on the importance of Aati and the customs, traditions and practices associated with it.
On the occasion a special cultural events Aati Padadana and Aati Kalanja was presented by folk artiste Sanjeeva. Deputy Commissioner N Prakash and Mangalore North MLA BA Mohiuddeen Bawa were the chief guests.
A variety of food stalls serving a variety of Aati traditional delicacies were displayed on the event. A large number of people from all over Mangalore visited these unique food stalls and relished the delicacies such as Kori Sukka, Thekkareda Adde, Pathrode, Balyar Chutney, Tevu Tetla, Gendada Adye and many more.
