Mangalore: Samskara Bharati Honors 5 Distinguished Personalities for Lifetime Contributions

Mangalore, 23 July, 2013 : The city based Samskara Bharati honored 5 distinguished veterans for their lifetime contributions to the society through their profession, as part of Gurupoornima, here recently.

 

Eighty-two-year-old veteran social activist B Koragappa Suvarna, union leader of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) who lives along with his family at Kodical, here, was honored in recognition of his 6 decades of labour welfare activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eighty-one-year-old veteran musical maestro K Saroja Mohandas, who began her career when she was five-year-old, served as artiste in All India Radio (AIR), staged musical concert during Dasara celebrations and all over the nation, was honored at her resident in Ashoknagar, here.

 

Seventy-four-year-old Bhoja Poojary, who has been a veteran of temple celebrant and tailor by profession, was honored at his residence in Jeppu, here.  He has been the temple celebrant of Lord Vaidyanat.

 

Sixty-eight-year-old K V Bhat, a veteran dramatist, director, writer, journalist who staged plays across Karnataka, who has launched Tulu newspaper – Posa Kural was honored at Shankar mutt, Kotekar, here.

 

Seventy-eight-year-old wrestler and traditional martial art instructor Nonayya Master, who has played key role in sustaining traditional martial art that, is threatened of oblivion, since the past 6 decades, at his residence in Yekkur, here.

 

Samskara Bharati - Karnataka  chief former MLA Kumble Sundar Rao, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, former MLA N Yogish Bhat, Samskara Bharati – regional secretary Chandrashekar Shetty, Samskara Bharati – Mangalore unit president Sasikant Nagvekar, secretary Nagaraj V Shetty, vice president Dhanapal Shettigar, joint secretary Sripati Acharya and others were present at the occasion.

 

Samskara Bharati members Srilata Nagaraj, dance teacher Sharada Manishekar, Rajashree Ullal, Soumya S Rao, Sharat Kadri, Sudhakar Rao Pejavar, Nityanand Rao, Shobha Pejavar, Rajgopal rai, Dr Satish Rao and others were also present.
