M’lore: State Minister Abayachandra to Inaugurate 17th Independence Cup in City on Jul 20

Mangalore, 18 Jul 2013: Dakshina Kannada District Football Association (DKDFA) affiliated to Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) will be organizing the seventeenth Independence Cup at Nehru maidan football ground here on Saturday July 20 at 9.30am.

 
Addressing the media persons here on Thursday July 18, DKDFA president D M Aslam said that the state minister for youth affairs and sports Abayachandra Jain will inaugurate the twenty-seven-day tournament here at 9.30am on Saturday.

 

 
The tournament will be held in 6 categories including higher primary school (boys and girls), high school (boys and girls), pre-university college (boys) and professional colleges (boys).

 
Around 200 teams from all categories have registered for the tournament and the final match in all categories will be held on Thursday August 15.

 
The last date for the registration of teams from pre-university college and professional colleges will be Friday July 26.

 
DKDFA joint secretary Yuvaraj Bengre, KSFA member Vijaya Suvarna and treasurer Anil P V were present.
