Udupi: Key Objective of Education lies in Personification of Humanity – Bishop Dr Gerald I Lobo

Udupi, 13 Jul 2013: ‘At this information technology era, the education has become a means to gain mere jobs. Meanwhile, the key objective of education lies in personification of human virtues - empathy, love, sacrifice, service, honesty, courage and conviction, said Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi diocese.
Bishop Dr Gerald was speaking after inaugurating students’ union of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here on Saturday July 13.
‘The need of the hour is education that is complete with moral, physical and spiritual growth. The inherent talent among them has to be exhibited for social benefit,’ said Bishop Dr Gerald.
St Mary’s College correspondent Fr Stany Tauro presided the function and distributed the scholarship to talented students.
The student welfare officer Professor Pascal D’Sa introduced the dignitaries.
The students’ union leaders Rayan Lionel Monis, Joyson Benjamin Furtado, Suprita and Sushma were present at the occasion.
St Mary’s College principal Professor Rajan V N welcomed the gathering. Ankit and Rashmi compered the programme.

It is very true that the objective education is ppersonification of Humanity. What happens now-a days is rather opposite of it. Humanity is rarely found in amny a great Educationists. they fail to note the humanity in others. The beginning must from the top and not from the lower ebb. Let us wish that the younge generation get inspitation from our Religious Leaders. |
