Mangalore: World Population Day Observed at District Wen Lock Hospital

Mangalore, 11 July : At the joint aegis of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district administration, DK zilla panchayat, district health and family welfare department, Mangalore University NSS, World Population Day was observed at district Wen Lock Hospital, here on Thursday July 11.
The state forest, environment and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanat Rai inaugurated the World Population Day here on Thursday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Ramanat Rai said the population control can be achieved only through public awareness on population explosion. The governments have devised several measures to control the population explosion. DK district has achieved major progress in this regard, said minister Rai. He also urged each citizen to know his / responsibility in contributing for national growth, urged minister Rai.
Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo presided the function.
Mangalore north MLA Mohideen Bawa was the chief guest.
DK Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, zilla panchayat CEO Vijay Prakash were present at the occasion.
