Mangalore, 27 Jun 2013: MLA J R Lobo visited Wen Lock district Hospital, here on Wednesday June 26, to review the healthcare facilities and resolve the grievances of patients and health staff.
Wen Lock Hospital RMO Dr Eerappa briefed MLA J R Lobo about shortage of Group D staff and health assistants, not enough water coolers for the patients in the hospital and other issues.
MLA Lobo inspected the ongoing construction works of building block by state-owned Nirmiti Kendra with flaws in toilet doors and floor tiles etc. He also viewed the outpatients staying on corridors due to lack of beds in the wards, facing scorching sun and rains, besides mosquitoes bite; the inadequate drainage and flaws in procurement of medicines in the stores, leaking roof etc. A few patients complained that they were forced to buy plaster-of-paris from vendors as the stocks were not available in the hospital stores.
The local corporators Vinayaraj and Chandra, former corporator Padmanabha and others were present at the occasion.

Pity!! Govt owned hospital should be better than private owned since they need not try desperately to earn profits!! Tax payers money should get justice!! Looks like poor condition of building and lack of house keeping, inadequate facility to poor patients reflect leak of funds to undesired areas (pockets)!! Wish our Labama will try to improve the situation!! |
