Mangalore, 24 June 2013  : Nature, which is generally defined as natural environment. It is nothing but, the things which are formed without human intervention such as beaches, rocks, hills, rivers, mountains, agricultural fields and wild life in forests. To understand the nature one doesn’t need to refer books or surf the internet.

Nature is truly an intrinsic part of our lives. The nature’s beauty has been enrolled in the work of many poets and artists. It is so miraculous because it is always changing. No matter how many times you look at the nature it is always beautiful with different variations. It has its own colors and shades. Nature is responsible for sun, color, moon, rains, snow and also seasons formed by these.

The sea which is blue in the morning, changes its colors by afternoon. Nature has a way of affecting our mood and it can force us to change our plans when it is sunny and bright outside, we feel cheerful inside. When it is cloudy and raining we feel gloomy. When there is a beautiful starry night, the moonlight makes us feel romantic. Nature can treat have a good effect on our lives in the way we look at their and in the way. We feel about ourselves “Nature is painting to us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty –“John russle. But preserving nature is one thing and appreciating is quiet another.

Sometimes I stare at the sky and wonder why we have done such a mess of things. I wonder how we can tear up seas and use up the trees all in the name of progress and urbanization. We human beings who are running after development and urbanization only for our sake are exploiting the beauty of nature, by cutting the woods, by destructing the hills, mountains for mines and minerals etc.. By polluting rivers for water resources and by industrial water, which are hence causing a hazardous consequence.

The nature is protecting us in every way. I too agree that nature sometimes is too dangerous causing huge destruction to nature and also human lives which is beyond imagination to humans in form of hurricanes, Tsunamis, floods, drought, earthquakes etc… Do you think nature is sole responsible for all this? No it is the fault of human also, because all this natural destruction occurs due to natural imbalance, which is created by humans.

if we appreciate the blessing of nature, it bestows on us. we forget that we are plundering her treasured there by denying our children, the pleasures of enjoying nature in all her abundance.

Now a day, it has become a trend for people, going for holidaying to some hill stations away from urban areas and enjoying the natural scenery beauties and pleasant atmosphere by spending a lot of money, wasting time and energy. If we preserve our nature, then our children may feel home as beautiful as nature instead of going hill stations to enjoy the holidays.

Some species are endangered due to exploitation of nature. In early days, by dawn, birds such as crows, sparrows flew away from their nest in the direction of sun by making sounds. Are we able to see and hear all that now a days? Where all these birds have gone now? There are so many species which are endangered due to exploitation in nature, which we cannot realize now. The nature is something which gives us beauty & resources without expecting anything from us. Then it is our responsibility to respect the nature and preserve it. Can we save our natural environment? Can we stop this natural exploitation? I do agree we cannot stop the natural exploitation, but yes we can preserve the nature by following a concept R3 – Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse.

That human activity alone is responsible for natural calamities visiting upon us is debatable. This planet has seen violent evolution and transformations before human species walked its lengths and breadths in their efforts to survive and create better living conditions. Having said that, the message is non-debatable: Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. That is gospel truth.
