Mangalore: Minister Ramanath Rai Convenes DK District Progress Review Meeting

Mangalore, 15 Jun 2013: Dakshina Kannada (DK) district progress review meeting was held at the chairmanship of state environment, forest and DK district-in-charge minster B Ramanath Rai, at Deputy Commissioner’s chamber, here on Saturday June 15 morning.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) N Prakash, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, DK district-in-charge chief secretary Bharatlal Meena, state fisheries minister Abayachandra Jain, state health minister U T Khader, MLA J R Lobo, different department officers was present.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Ramanat said that DK is surging ahead in every sphere, while it’s the duty of everyone to shape better future for new generation. The need of common man has to be cared for in granting state facilities to eligible people. The honesty is essential for government staff while discharging duties, dishonest will not go scot free. The due emphasis should be laid for drinking water in city limits. The crucial issue of garbage disposal had to be efficiently managed to make clean city, advised minister Ramanat to state employees.
MLA Lobo advised the department officials to solve the monsoon issues such as chocked drains, flash floods and related tasks at the earliest. The city needs 2.5 acres plot to develop an ultra modern stadium to promote sports. The permanent solution for sea erosion has to be taken to avoid further damage to the properties of people living on the coast. Although the deadline for applying Aadhaar Card got over on May 31, he had intimated DC to extend it for a few months, said MLA Lobo.
