Konkani Natak Sabha Moodbidri Varado Inter Parish Konkani Singing Competition held

Moodbidri, 09 Jun 2013: In commemoration of the Golden Inter Parish Konkani Singing Competition of Konkani Natak Sabha, Moodbidri Varado Inter Parish Singing competition was held on Sunday June 9th, 2013 at Moodbidri Parish Hall.

 

The Singing Competition was inaugurated by Moodbidri Varado Vicar Var Rev. Austin Peris by lighting the lamp along with Vice President of Moodbidri Parish Council Mr Jossy Menezes, President of Konkani Natak Sabha Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza (capuchin), Vice President Dolphy Saldanha, General Secretary Sunil Menezes, Joint Secretary Lynette P. Kamath and Treasurer Prem Lobo.

 

Speaking on the occasion Fr Austin Peris wished all the participants every success.

 

In both the categories 59 Competitors from Moodbidri, Hospet, Alangar, Belvai, Gantalkatte and Tacode parishes of the Moodbidri Varado participated in the competition.

 

 

The following competitors are qualified for Semi final:

 

Below 10 years:

Solo – Riya Rodrigues, Moodbidri
Duet – Riya Rodrigues and Riyona Rodrigues, Moodbidri

 

10 to 15 years:

Solo - Nihal Tauro, Alangar and Loslita Goveas, Hospet
Duet - Loslita Goveas and Sharol Rodrigues, Hospet
    Aslita Tellis and Maria Tellis, Belvai
Group - Loslita Goveas and Group, Hospet.

 

Above 15 years

Ladies Solo - Elvira Serrao, Alangar and Avita Castelino, Belvai
Gents Solo - Clement Fernandes, Tacode and Amar Lobo, Hospet
Ladies duet - Priya Menezes and Mishel Noronha, Hospet
    Ann Monis and Patricia Alphonso, Moodabidri
Gents duet - Nester D’Souza and Pressly D’Souza, Hospet
    Roshan Fernandes and Stany Lobo, Moodbidri
Mixed Group-  Frenni Sera and group, Hospet,
      Ivy Serrao and group, Moodbidri
Married couple : Manohar and Anitha Cutinha, Hospet,
        Prakash and Anitha Pereira, Gantalkatte

 

Walter Colaco from Bendore, Alwyn Noronha from Bajpe and Arthur D’Souza from Derebail are the judges for the competition.

 

Audience enjoyed the jokes enacted by Comedy King Adolpus Cutinha (Dolla,Manglur) on the occasion.

 

Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Dolphy Saldanha compered the programme, Martin D’Souza introduced the judges and Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks.

 

Prize distribution ceremony for the qualifier of Semifinal was held after the competition. The Prizes were distributed by Parish Priest of Hospet Parish Fr Assisi Rebello along with President of Konkani Natak Sabha Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza. Daisy D’Souza announced the results.
