Udupi: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project Immensely Contributed for Women Empowermen

Udupi, 29 May 2013 : Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) contributed immensely in women empowerment in rural areas, sustaining farm produce, creating awareness on the significance of saving, education and alleviating social evils, said Swami Kalahastendra Saraswati of Anegundi mutt, Katpady, near here.
Swami Kalahastendra was speaking during the installation ceremony of zonal level 13 Federations of SKDRDP held at Durgaparameshwari temple auditorium, Bantakal, near here on Sunday May 25. It was jointly organized by SKDRDP and Satyanarayan puja Committee, Shirva.
Fr Charles Lewis, parish priest of Holy Cross, Pamboor was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Charles said that SKDRDP has successfully changed the rural life, by women empowerment, creating awareness on significance of education and undertaking social welfare activities, said Fr Charles.
Khatib Sirajuddin Moulawi of Sunni Jamiya masjid, Shirva said that the prevailing situation of communal clashes in our country; SKDRDP has set an example by working for the betterment of people of different castes, creed and faith, said Khatib Sirajuddin.
Bantakal temple managing trustee Vishwanat Nayak, SKDRDP Udupi talukproject officer Malati, Jan Jagruti Vedike state president K Devdas Hebbar were present at the dais.
Jan Jagruti Vedike taluk president Naveen Amin Shankarapura presided the programme.
Vedamurti Sudhindra Bhat performed religious celebration ahead of stage programme on Sundaymorning.
The installation ceremony of office bearers of 13 Federations was held at the occasion.
The percentage of profit-cheques was distributed to those more profitable Federations during the programme.
SKDRDP Bantakal animator Ganapati Prabhu Palami, Shirva zonal animator Mohan K, office bearers of Federations was also present.
Padubelle Raghavendra Shetty welcomed the gathering. Deviprasad Mudarangady compered the programme. Heroor Vasanati Ashok Acharya proposed vote of thanks.Over 3,000 representatives of SKDRDP attended the programme.
