Udupi, 27 May 2013: The former regime of BJP led state administration has not developed the infrastructural needs ahead of announcing the new taluks in the state. Its owing to this, the revenue minister has withheld the process of taluk formation and not withdrawn the proposal. I would make my honest efforts in approving the taluk status to Brahmavar and Byndoor, after putting in place all essential basic amenities, said the state town development and Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
The minister Sorake was speaking during the felicitation programme organized by Congress party activists at S M S Community Building, Brahmavar, near here on Sunday May 26.
The proposal of reviving defunct Brahmavar Sugar Factory will be discussed with Deputy Commissioner and zilla panchayat CEO, added minister Sorake.
The minister Sorake further said that the proposal to upgrade Brahmavar as municipality or town panchayat will be reviewed, as it’s growing as taluk center in the district. The title deeds for those people living in dwelling quarters built on state-owned disused lands since the past 10 – 15 years will be issued at the earliest since there are nearly 11,000 files pending, said minister Sorake.
The newly-elected Udupi MLA Pramod Madwaraj and minister Sorake was honored at the same occasion.
The Congress leaders Sarala Kanchan, Bhujanga Shetty, Bhujanga Shetty, Amrut Shenoy, Veronica Cornelio, Umesh Naik, Mallika Ashok, Mallika Balakrishna and others were present at the occasion.
