Udupi, 24 May 2013: The shuffling of candidates in 3 legislative constituencies of Udupi district before just 20 days ahead of the recently held assembly elections and denial of such candidates by the voters is responsible for the poor show for BJP in the district, analyzed BJP district president Uday Kumar Shetty.
Addressing the media persons at BJP district office here on Thursday May 23, Uday Kumar said that the shuffling of candidates was the decision of party high command, said Shetty.
BJP trusted the development undertaken by its state administration was the benchmark to win the recently held assembly election that has been proved wrong. The voters did not consider development, but desperately wanted change in regime as BJP led state administration was marred with internal turmoil, division of party to form BSR Congress and KJP and were successful in their endeavor, added Shetty.
‘We have realized our mistakes and will work towards rectifying them. There were only 2 choices. We have been defeated and our choice is to win,’ said Shetty.
The newly-formed Congress regime has in the beginning by the plans to manufacture cheap arrack, to withdraw the formation of new taluks, to take over the administration of Sri Krishna mutt thereby hurting the religious sentiments of coastal residents. BJP will stage struggle in this regard, stressed Shetty.
