Manipal University signs MoU with Ohio State University, Columbus, USA

Manipal, 16 May 2013: Department of Public Health, Manipal University (MU) in collaboration with Ohio State University (OSU), USA initiated an educational exchange program involving students and faculty by signing a Memorandum of Understanding last week. The MoU also entails collaborative research and joint workshops and conferences.
Dr. Michael Bisesi, Associate Dean, College of Public Health and Dr. H. N. Nagaraja, Professor and Chair, Division of Biostatistics, represented OSU, and Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Ramachandra Kamath, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health were the Manipal University representatives.
Dr. Stan Lemeshow, Dean, College of Public Health, OSU had visited Manipal earlier to initiate a dialogue between the two Universities and also conducted the first International workshop on epidemiology and biostatistics.
Seventeen students from The Ohio State University are already in Manipal as a part of a new Study Abroad Program. They are here for a month for a study on global health with a focus on Indian Public Health system, Health policies and National health programs including communicable and non-communicable diseases.
