Hassan: Relatives of Youth Protest over Death, alleging Maltreatment by Hospital Staff

Hassan, 11 May 2013: The relatives of a youth staged protest here alleging he died owing to the negligence of a doctor in treating him, being reported on Friday May 9 night.
The deceased has been identified as thirty-year-old Raju, son of Deve Gowda, a native of Anjaneya Hosalli village in the limits of Ramapura gram panchayat of Arakalagood.
Raju was admitted to CSI Hosital located at Slaters Hall roundabout, here a few months ago, as a lump was developed in his right feet owing to fall of a stone.
The relatives of Raju alleged maltreatment by the doctors, owing to which he died at about 7.15pm on Thursday.
When the medical superintendent Dr Krishnamurti announced that Raju died of cardiac arrest; the relatives staged protest to vent their anguish on hospital staff.
The circle inspector Sanjeeve Gowda and policemen restrained the protesters who demanded thorough probe into the incident.
