Udupi: New Voters in Large Numbers Enthusiastically Vote in Assembly Election

Udupi , 6 May 2013 : Along with the new voters, frequent voters were found to be exercising their franchisee as if it’s a tradition.


Meanwhile, the new and frequent voters exercising their right to vote indeed strengthens the trust in democratic governance.


The eighteen-year-old Sumana, who cast her vote for the first time in her life at the polling center located at Government Primary School, Gavali at the limits of Kundapur legislative constituency, said, ‘I voted to a candidate who was helpful to people in their needs of my constituency.  I trust he will win the elections,’ said Sumana.  ‘I never what is voting so far.  The system is good,’ said Sumana with joy.

 


The eighteen-year-old Divya Shetty and her friends who cast their votes at the polling center located at Hanumanta Nagar School, Nittoor in the limits of Udupi legislative constituency were found to be happy with their new experience.


The eighty-year-old Saraswati, who cast her vote at the polling center in Rattady village at the limits of Kundapur legislative constituency said with pride, ‘I have never missed voting not even once in my life.  It’s true that I voted in every election, but we have not got any benefit from our MLA,’ Saraswati revealed the truth and walked away…


The seventy-five-year-old Chiru Mogerti, hailing from Kundapur legislative constituency revealed that it’s the practice she is being picked up in an auto rickshaw to cast her vote and drop at her door step later in each elections that is being done this time too, said Chiru.


The one-hundred-three-year-old feeble Budda Poojarti, who was carried in a chair to cast her vote at the polling center located at Government Primary School, Ultoor, in the limits of Kundapur, said, ‘It’s one of the lifetime opportunity to exercise the right to vote that I cannot give up.  I don’t remember since when I began voting in my life.  But, I hope to vote as long as I live,’ said Budda Poojarti.
