Udupi: BJP-led State Admin granted Funds to Darga, Mosques; Abubakker

Udupi, 28 Apr 2013: The allegations that BJP has granted crore of rupees to mutts and religious centers are false. It has also granted funds to Darga, mosques and churches. At this backdrop, the minority community had to support BJP in the upcoming assembly elections, said Karnataka Minority Development Board past president Abubakker N B.
Addressing the media persons here on Saturday April 27, Abubakker said that Congress led state government has granted Rs 35 crore to minority welfare department during 2005 – 06, while BJP led state administration has granted Rs 128.98 crore during 2008-09, Rs 407 crore during 2012 – 13; altogether Rs 1,313.96 in five-years, said Abubakker.
Both Congress and JDS that ruled Karnataka in the past 22 years granted Rs 264.81 crores to 1,30,832 beneficiaries, while BJP led state administration granted Rs 327.94 crores to 1,89,905 beneficiaries. BJP is in favour of minority and the community is expected to vote for them, stressed Abubakker.
The past government granted Rs 1.14 crore to 860 beneficiaries in 22 years in Udupi district, while BJP led state administration released Rs 6.54 crore to 3,913 beneficiaries in 5 years in Udupi district.
