Mangalore, 26 Apr 2013: The upcoming Karnataka assembly elections will face straight fight between national parties Congress and BJP. I am confident that KJP will neither form nor play any significant role in forming the new government. JDS has a little influence limited to few pockets across the state. BJP is hopeful of winning the upcoming assembly elections, because of development works undertaken by its 2 successive Chief Ministers, said BJP veteran leader Sushma Swaraj.
Addressing media persons during press meet held at Ocean Pearl banquet hall, here at 10.30am, Sushma Swaraj said that the voters in Karnataka are convinced from the development works undertaken during the five-year BJP rule will re-elect to form the new government, stressed Sushma.
When a media person queried over recent incursion of Chinese troops inside 10 kilometers of Indian Territory, Sushma said that she is neither convinced nor the citizens are over the assurances of PM Dr Manmohan Singh and defence minister A K Antony that the country faces no threat from Chinese intrusion. However, the history should not repeat like the Indo – China war of 1962, and the issue ought to be resolved amicably at the earliest without any haste and delay, said Sushma.
When a media person queried over alleged reluctance of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi in campaigning for BJP candidate in Karnataka’s upcoming assembly election, Sushma replied that the allegations are baseless. The campaign tour of CM Modi has been chalked up to address the public meetings across Karnataka, said Sushma.
Sushma also briefed over several issues that she had voiced in recent parliamentary sessions at the occasion.
MLC Ganesh Karnic, BJP women morcha president Reena and others were present at the press meet.

The very body language of the leaders itself suggests that they already have not only lost the battle but also the fight. Cheer up. It is only an election and the people are in charge for once! |
