Udupi: Kaup BJP Candidate MLA Lalaji Mendon Solicits for Votes to achieve 100% Aspirations

Udupi, 24 Apr 2013: Under the jurisdiction of Kaup legislative assembly constituency, development works to the tune of Rs 300 crore were undertaken in five-year term and I have satisfaction of fulfilling the demands of 60 percent of people, said Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon.

 
Addressing the media persons during a press meet held his office, on Tuesday April 23, MLA Mendon said that he has aspiration to fulfill 100 percent of demands of people that he could achieve, if the voters give him another chance by franchising their valuable votes for him, urged MLA Mendon.

 

 
Two degree colleges and 2 ITIs were set up in Kaup legislative assembly constituency.  The primary health centers were developed in Hiriyadka, Kaup and Padubidri.  The foundation was laid to construct Government Hospital in Mudarangady.  Rupees thirty lac spent on supplying drinking water.  Thirteen gram panchayats out of 29 were included under Suvarna Gram project.  The tourism potential was tapped by improving basic infrastructure at Kaup seashore at a cost of Rs 65 lac and Padubidri seashore at a cost of Rs 25 lad.  Rupees five crore were spent on developing 12 lakes, added MLA Mendon.

 
The blue-print has been prepared to develop the much awaited Hejamady fisheries port at a cost of Rs 26 crore.  The survey has been done to undertake dredging at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore.  The subsidized diesel of 1.30 lac liters was supplied to fisheries boats.  Over 2,000 fisheries ponds were development, besides houses are constructed to homeless under the state-run Basava housing and Indira Awaz housing programme. Under Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Rs 1.70 crore was awarded to sick.

 
 
Future plans: 

 
MLA Mendon further said that efforts will be made to construct postgraduate college in Hiriyadka, in order to lay emphasis on higher education to the students residing in Kaup legislative assembly constituency; to develop mini-jetty to moor the boats during summer, in the model of Kerala; to set up industrial park to create local jobs; to set up Udupi University in Belapu village, to lay 3 cold storage facilities, to develop a swimming pool.
