Dubai: Ashuntha’s collection of short story book released

Dubai, 22 Apr 2013: ‘Kadryaso Kanto’ a collection of short stories in Konkani released on Friday 19th April 2013 by Herman Lewis at the annual day celebration of the Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA).

 

About the Author: This book is written by Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro known as Ashuntha Pereira Gantalkatte or A.P. Monteiro. She is a well-known young writer who has authored books & articles in Konkani, Kannada, English and Tulu languages. She has written and staged two Konkani Dramas, ‘Canadaso Comblo’ and ‘Konnachem Aikonchem?’ Bessaun Anim Her Kotha’ was her first collection of short stories released in 2005. She has written more than 50 short stories, 25 poems & several articles which were published in various Konkani periodicals and websites.

 

 

 

In 1999 she won the first place in public speaking competition at Mangalore Diocese level. One of her stories ‘Parath Seere (Old Sari)’ was awarded by the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy in 2001.
