Dubai: Udenthichin Neketra successfully completes 8th Anniversary staging a konkani drama

Dubai, 19 Apr 2013: Konkani hilarious play “ Mog Molak Mellan” provided laughter medicine to the audience of Udenthichim Neketram, Moodbidri Varado Parishioners gathered in large numbers at The Indian Academy Al Qusais, Dubai on Friday.  Moodbidri Catholic Association (MVCA) an association of 13 parishes celebrated their 8th anniversary with a grand cultural show and singing by well-known konkani singers of Dubai namely Nisha D’Souza and Joy Almeida and with a Konkani drama.

 

As a main attraction was the hilarious Konknai Drama “Mog Molak Melana” originally authored by William Pinto Padrengi and adapted and directed by Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro, well known artists from Dubai performed wonderfully and exhibited their acting skills.  Ashuntha is a well-known writer whose credits include authoring and directing two Konkani dramas and publishing two short story books. On the occasion of their 8th anniversary her second short story book “Kadryaso Kanto” was released in the hands of Herman Lewis (MD Radio Spice 105.4).  MVCA has provided a foundation and exposure for bright and talented writers, directors, and well-known actors, who have taken Konkani drama’s to new heights. It is a Catholic association, well-known for its noble mission of helping the needy back home irrespective of the caste. They have planned many more helpful projects for the needy.

 

 

 

 

Gathering was welcomed by President Joshua D’Souza and General Secretary, Ciprian Dsouza read the annual report.
Meanwhile new office bearers for year 2013-2014 were introduced and they inaugurated formal annual day function by lighting the lamp.  (President) Praveen Sequeira, Siddakatte, (Secretary), Vinay Pinto Paladka, (treasurer) Elias Hospet took charge as new office bearers.

 

The Chief Guest Herman Lewis (CEO & MD of Radio Spice) speaking on the occasion said  “Take voluntary step for a cause and this will make others to join. People will join in knowing your cause and it need initiative. When you want to mark a change start and spread the message so that you will build a team and reach your goal’.

 

Gathering was entertained by Konkani Baila by Mangalorean singers Nisha Dsouza and Joy and musicians Ajith and team. Budding dancers of  Udentinchin Nekentra performed dance at the occasion.

 

Unique and traditional Kombo ani Kombi (Hen and Cock) auction which grabbed the attention of gathering was held prior to the drama and association raised substantial auction amount for the poor children education fund back in Moodubidri.
