Mangalore, 19 Apr 2013: I feel ashamed to say that I am a native of Karnataka whenever I visit any state across India and other countries, said union petroleum minister M Veerappa Moily.

Addressing the media persons during the press meet held at Congress election publicity office at Kadri, here on Friday April 19, minister Moily said that he felt ashamed to say I am a native of Karnataka that has been misruled by BJP involved in corruption, favouritism and all excesses and introduce myself as union minister only, said minister Moily.

’The BJP led state administration has approved the status of 32 deemed universities that have dearth of basic amenities,’ said minister Moily.  He alleged that the then education minister has approved the status after taking huge bribes, alleged Moily.

The majority of state ministers are involved in corruption, while a few have gone to jails.  The Supreme Court has issued verdict that the state mining resources to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore are being swindled by mining barons supported by ministers.  The nation has not seen such a disgraced administration as that of BJP led Karnataka in the history, stressed Moily.

Karnataka has failed in efficiently managing electricity grid.  The key energy source of Raichur thermal plant is running under below capacity.  The state has no dearth of electricity before BJP led state administration.  The acute shortage of electricity forced Karnataka to procure from other states with debts running into Rs 1.18 lac crore with accumulated interest of Rs 7,500 crore, emphasized minister Moily.

The allegations of BJP candidate Yogish Bhat on Mangalore south Congress candidate J R Lobo are baseless, because J R Lobo was honest officer throughout his career.  Yogish Bhat had instructed to demolish Lady Goschen Hospital believing the assurances of an entrepreneur, while he had to intervene to begin the works, said minister Moily.

The veteran Congress leaders Kodijal Ibrahim, J R Lobo, former mayors Ashraf and Sasidar Hegde, AICC member P V Mohan, T K Sudhir, Balaraj Rai, Tejomaya, Nagendra Dinesh Alva and others were present at the press meet.
