Kundapur Legislative Assembly Constituency Battleground for Political Parties

Kundapur,16 Apr 2013: Kundapur legislative assembly constituency is located in coastal Karnataka, where the natives speak Kundagannada and is known for political trivial. The voters chose Congress for nearly 10 to 20 years and for few terms voted for BJP. Meanwhile, one has to wait and see whether the voters are going to shun BJP or not in the upcoming assembly elections?
Out of 12 legislative assembly elections that are held in Kundapur constituency from 1957 to 2008; Congress has won 6 times and BJP for 3 times. Peoples Socialist Party (PSP) won twice and Janata Party won once.
No sooner one says about Kundapur legislative assembly constituency, two prominent personalities emerge that is Pratapchandra and Halady Srinivas Shetty.

Pratapchandra Shetty has won 4 times as Congress candidate from 1983 to 1999. He faced defeat against BJP candidate Halady Srinivas in 1999 and continued to thrice till the last assembly elections.
Halady Srinivas has deserted BJP since he was irked by BJP led state administration that has denied ministerial berth to him, is contesting the upcoming elections as an independent candidate.
Congress has field in Malyady Shivaram Shetty as their candidate to contest the upcoming assembly elections from Kundapur legislation constituency as strong waves of Congress are felt in the recently held civic polls. The BJP that hoped Halady Srinivas would be their candidate, issued ticket to local BJP leader Kishore Kumar without a choice.
Meanwhile, the political parties are in dilemma owing to unforeseen political developments that have taken place in Kundapur constituency. All the parties are wooing the voters who are neutral and busy as usual.
