Udupi, 15 Apr 2013: The majority of MLAs, peoples’ representatives are more interested of limelight who takes every opportunity to lay foundation or inaugurate state-run projects etc. They seek self gratification in thunderous applauses and pose for several pictures and the media carry their reports.
However, as an exception, there is a MLA who won the elections for the successive 3 term, that he had never laid foundation or inaugurated any state projects. He is contesting in the upcoming assembly elections who still say he will avoid all the fanfare even if he wins this time!
He is none other than the former MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, who has been contesting as BJP candidate so far will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections as independent candidate. He rebelled against BJP led state government when CM Jagdish Shettar denied ministerial berth at the last minute. Owing to this incidence, he had resigned to his post as MLA and also resigned to his basic membership with BJP.
Halady Srinivas has always avoided attending any major events of BJP across Udupi district.
He believes its waste of money and time to attend laying foundation or inaugural programmes. The developments are what it matters that has been going on in his home constituency without much fanfare, says humble thrice MLA Srinivas.
