Udupi: Independent Candidate Halady Srinivas Shetty announces Voters Liberty in Choosing Candidate

Udupi, 13 Apr 2013: I have not drawn up election manifesto.  I will not distribute rice or donate houses to lure the voters.  Meanwhile, if I win the upcoming assembly elections; I will try honestly to get state benefits to eligible beneficiaries and also implement development works, said BJP former MLA and independent candidate Halady Srinivas Shetty.

 

 

Addressing the media persons during a press meeting held here on Friday April 12, Srinivas said that he has never fallen on the feet of CM Jagdish to offer him ministerial berth.  It was BJP ruled state government disgraced him by backing-off after announcing ministerial berth to him.  It’s the insult on the entire people of his assembly constituency.  He wanted to quit politics, but he is back in politics by contesting as independent candidate, who was supported by majority of his followers, said Srinivas. 

 

‘I have not sought support from other political parties.  I have no idea of JDS and KJP who wanted to support me by not issuing party tickets to contest in my assembly constituency,’ said Halady Srinivas.

 

‘A few members of ZP, TP and gram panchayats with affiliations of BJP are supporting him without being asked for it.  It’s up to them and I am not sure whether their high command takes disciplinary on them.  The high command is known to be ruthless on well natured member,’ said Srinivas.

 

When the media men queried Srinivas whether the latter will join BJP if he wins the upcoming elections, he said that it’s too early to comment.
