Mangalore: District Police Pay Homage to Coastguard Police Rajappa – Died on Duty at Mulky Check pos

Mangalore, 6 Apr 2013: The district police on Friday April 5 evening paid homage to police constable Rajappa who was knocked down by a speeding truck while engaged in duty at Mulky check post here on Friday April 5 morning.
Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy and senior police officers paid homage along with state honour to Rajappa at District Armed Reserve (DAR) police ground here on Friday evening.
Rajappa was a native of Davanagere serving in Coastal Security Force. Rajappa was checking the vehicles at Bappanadu check post located at Mulky here along with fellow policeman on Friday at about 3.00am, when a truck driver knocked him down. Rajappa died instantly.
The wailing of Rajappa’s wife and family was unbearable for the humanity that gathered at the occasion.
