Udupi: St Mary’s College, Shirva Bids Adieu to Principal Dr John Clarence Miranda

Udupi, 02 Apr 2013: The authorities of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here bid adieu to their principal Dr John Clarence Miranda who was transferred to Pompeii College, Aikala, here as principal and commerce lecturer Professor Vincent D’Souza who was transferred to Sacred Heart College, Madantyar in Beltangady taluk, during a function held at the college auditorium on Saturday March 30.
The lecturer Dr Padmanabha Bhat in his felicitation address said that its after Dr John took over as principal of college, courses such as BBM, BCA, M Com, MSw were begun. The new building block was constructed at the campus. He was instrumental in helping the students to exhibit their inherent talents, by organizing state and national level seminars.
The college governing council members Norbert Machado commended the human virtues of Dr John at the occasion.
The head of department of commerce Professor Pascal D’Sa appreciated the teaching skills of soft spoken Professor Vincent who has been with St Mary’s College since the past 21 years.
The College correspondent Fr Stany Tauro thanked both Dr John and Professor Vincent for their valuable service and conveyed best wishes in their future endeavour.
Juliet Veera Rego rendered the prayers. Professor Ronald Joseph Moras welcomed the gathering. Professor Gopalakrishna Samaga proposed voate of thanks. Professor Preema D’Souza compered the programme.
