Kundapur, 30 Mar 2013: The former BJP – MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty has given jolt to BJP in his home constituency of Kundapur, because he will contest the upcoming assembly elections as independent candidate. He has opened Janaseva Kendra, election publicity office at Kota, near here.
The local BJP activists and newly-elected peoples representatives of recently held civic polls were present to express their whole-hearted support to the popular local leader Halady Srinivas Shetty who has the aggressive plans to open more publicity offices and weaken BJP in his home constituency.
Halady Srinivas Shetty was denied ministerial berth during the cabinet expansion by BJP-led state administration. The frustrated Srinivas resigned to MLA post and also to his BJP membership, thereby shunned all contacts with BJP. He chose to be inactive in politics and only announced that he would contest the upcoming assembly elections as independent a week ago.
The first Janaseva Kendra is located at Kota bus stand on Friday March 29.
Udupi ZP member Sunita Rajaram inaugurated the first Janaseva Kendra here on Friday.
TP member Bharat Kumar Hegde, Raghavendra Kanchan, Saligrama town panchayat former president Raju Poojary were present at the occasion.
The elected representative who won in the recently held civic polls on BJP ticket expressed their open support to Srinivas Shetty. It is a clear indication that there will be stiff competition for BJP in Kundapur assembly constituency.
Although we are in BJP, we are saddened by BJP that has totally disregarded Srinivas Shetty who is our only leader. We owe our support to Srinivas because he is our mentor since we joined BJP. We are in a dilemma because we cannot ignore any. Anyway, we are with Srinivas Shetty, said Ganapati Sriyan, Udupi ZP member and strong supporter of Srinivas Shetty.
