Mangalore: Graduation Day Held at Father Muller Medical College

Mangalore,14 Mar 2013: ‘Education is the greatest asset. It is the topmost gift that the parents can give to their children,’ said Manipal University vice-chancellor H S Ballal.
H S Ballal was speaking during the Graduation Day celebrations of Father Muller Medical College, Kankanady, here on Thursday March 14.
The students remember the Graduation Day celebrations more than their parents. Ouar country has over 65 percent of youth population, 25 to 35 percent of youth are pursuing higher education. The nation has the lowest population with higher education, which is about 13.5 – 14 percent. The union government has been geared to increase this percentage to 30 by 2030. It would not be just possible that calls for the support of every citizen, added H S Ballal.
The former Indian President Dr A P J Kalam hoped India will become a powerful nation by 2020. In order to achieve this, every citizen should be educated. One should help women to get educationally empowered. The learning is continuous process throughout our life. One should strive for greater achievement by focusing on our energies, said H S Ballal.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner (DC) N Prakash in his chief guest’s address said that healthcare sector not only provides employment, it also gives opportunity to serve humanity. All those who are engaged in healthcare services ought to have patience to listen to the woes of patients, in order to properly diagnose the ailments. It will make one successful in his or her career, said DC Prakash.
Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, administrator Fr Richard Coelho, Father Muller Medical College administrator Fr Denis D’Sa, Fr Prakash D’Souza, Father Muller Medical College dean Dr J P Alva, Dr Srinat Rao, Akhilesh P M and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
