Bangalore: Warriors beat Koramangala to win Cricket Festival at Swiss town

Bangalore, 03 Mar 2013: The two day Cricket Festival at Swiss Town (Bangalore) saw some fine action by the 24 teams who came and performed in style. At the end of the 2 day action, Warriors beat BKS Koramangala in a low scoring final to lift the trophy and win the winners prize money of Rs.7500. The lads from Koramangala took the runner up trophy along with Rs.5000 as well. Put into bat, Koramangala could manage only 38 in their allotted 7 overs (Nitin 26 n.o.) which Warriors managed within 4 overs with Vimal’s 20 runs. Earlier in the semi finals, favourites Holy Rosary Church fell to the young Warriors while Koramangala accounted for Adgudi Warriors. All in all, the non stop action witnessed superb action which the spectators enjoyed. The tournament was played on Feb.23 (sat) and Feb.24 (sun) with 23 matches completed.
Nitin of Koramangala was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament, John (Holy Rosary Church) as Best Batsman of the Tournament, Michael (BKS Koramangala) as Best Bowler of the Tournament and Pradeep (Warriors) as Man of the Final.
Veteran Tournament Director Denzil Fernandes managed the 2 day event.
