Kuwait, 01 Mar 2013: On the occasion of observing ‘Environmental Hour’ this year, Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) and Environment Public Authority (EPA) jointly arranged a special celebration on February 27, 2013 in Yarmouk Park, Kuwait. The program included small workshops, a mini exhibition, and show for children.

The exhibition was extraordinary and innovative with a fine illustration of the concept ‘Best Out Of Waste’. Automobile scraps, tyres, small supplementing metal parts like nuts, bolts, screws, washers, plastic pipes, rugs, internal parts of computer, keyboards, electronic items and many more were constructively used.

The whole area of exhibition was made eye-catching with lots of colorful flowers, the flowers being the ‘exhaust fans’ of different sizes and ‘steering wheel’ of vehicles. Futile tyres and scrap tins took the shape of flower pots. Children at the exhibition were thrilled to fill the ‘tyre pots’ with sand and plant natural flowering plants. To add to the glory, beautiful long tailed peacocks exclusively made with metals parts such as washers, nuts and bolts were placed.

The viewers were astounded to see a re-creation of the famous painting ‘Monalisa’ by Leonardo Da Vinci, using the internal parts of the computer such as mother board and small chips.

Tyres and automobile scraps were beautifully combined to form big ‘gateway arches’ at the venue. A large tree was made there with, tyres painted in green to form its leaves, providing shades in sunlight.

Attractive sofa sets made of newspapers, plastic covers of different colors and metal tar barrels were exhibited there. While computer keyboards were nicely arranged to form a ‘massage chair’, small nuts, bolts and washers formed ‘garden chairs’, ‘tables’ and ‘mighty throne’ like chairs.

The viewers at the exhibition shared their excitement about this innovative concept. In addition to the creation of an awareness to protect our environment, the exhibition imparted a thought to have creativeness for ‘best out of waste’ to save our Earth.
