Udupi: Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Board to Begin Online Biometrical Registration on Mar 8

Udupi, 25 Feb 2013: Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Board will begin online biometrical registration for the first time in the country from Friday March 8. It will simplify the procedure of enrollment of Ayurveda medical students, said Dr Satyamurti Bhat.
Dr Satyamurti was speaking after inaugurating state level seminar held at SDM Ayurveda Medical College, Udyavar, here on Sunday February 24.
It’s mandatory for Ayurveda and Unani – traditional medicinal practitioners to register themselves before beginning the practice like allopathic doctors. Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Board will issue online certificates with 9 safety features that cannot be forged. It will be issued after obtaining fingerprints of aspirant. The certificate will be issued within 15 minutes, if all the relevant information are sent online and personally given samples of their fingerprints at the Board. Besides, pre-practical certificate can be issued online, said Dr Satyamurti.
SDM AyurvedaMedical College principal Professor U N Prasad presided the programme.
Professor Prasanna N Rao, principal of SDM Ayurveda Medical College, Hassan was the chief guest of the occasion.
