Felicitation of newly elected President and Vice President of Belle GP

Moodubelle, 2 July 2010: Jyothi Mahila Mandal felicitated the newly elected President and Vice President of the Belle Grama Panchayat-Mrs. Jacintha Aranha and Mrs. Sujatha Suvarna respectively on Thursday, 1st July 2010 at 11.30 am in the Mandal’s meeting hall. 

Following the welcome address, the President of the Jyothi Mahila Mandal, Mrs. Helen D’Souza  honoured both Mrs. Jacintha Aranha and Mrs. Sujatha Suvarna by garlanding them. Mrs. Shanata, the member of the Panchayat was also felicitated by offering her flowers.

Mrs. Jacintha Aranha, who was the founder member of the Jyothi Mahila Mandal thanked the members for supporting her in the election to the Panchayat and thanked them for their love and affection. She assured the members that she would work hard for the welfare of the people and appealed them to approach her with their problems.

 

Mrs. Sujatha Suvarna in her brief address said that she was elected for the first time as the member of the Belle Grama Panchayat and also as the Vice President. She said that by taking her example women should take interest in social and political activities. It is important to the women that they should be empowered in order to bring about a change in the society for the betterment of the women.

Mrs. Sumangala Acharya, Secretary of the Jyothi Mahila Mandal proposed the vote of thanks and wished well to the new office bearers of the Belle Grama Panchayat.
