Spectacular Aerobatic Display enthralled the aviation enthusiasts at Bangalore AERO-INDIA 2013

Bangalore, 14 February 2013: Aerobatic display by metal birds enthralled tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts at Yelahanka airbase here on Sunday as the curtains came down on the five-day Aero India 2013, Asia’s premier airshow.
The spectacular “ Aero India 2013 “ 9International Exhibition on Aerospace, Defence & Civil Aviation was held at the Yelahanaka Airbase from 6th to 10th February to a record aviation enthusiastic from all over India. The massive display of several aerobatic display enthralled the enthusiastic audience and at the same time loads of defence deals were materialized. The airshow was held in association with Defence Exhibition Organization, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
Defence minister AK Antony had announced on the inaugural day on February 6 that the next Aero India would be held here from February 18 to 22, 2015.
The five-day show also witnessed graceful flight displays of 1930s vintage Tiger Moth aircraft, which made its flight appearance after a gap of 22 years. LCA Tejas showed some breathtaking loops and vertical Charlie’s in the skies.
Aviation enthusiasts also witnessed a lot of adventure, excitement and colours of thrill over the last five days.
The Sarang team flew four HAL Dhruvs. Flying Bulls is one of the most accomplished European aerobatics teams and has been a member of the Red Bull family. It comprises of four pilots (three men and one woman) and they presented formation aerobatics.
The Sukhoi-27 Russian Knights aerobatic team of Russian Air Force performed demonstration flights for the first time in India.
The five-day aviation extravaganza, Aero India 2013, which ended on Sunday was not only about display of aerobatic skills and the paraphernalia usually accompanying such events, but also about potential business tie-ups and networking, given the Rs 1.42 lakh crore defence budget (2009-10), Indian aerospace and defence (A&D) sector is eyed by every Indian and global firm.
About two lakh people who purchased the tickets for the weekdays paying Rs 400 and Rs 1,000 to see the biggest attraction of this edition, the Russian Knights.
According to an organizer, the 2011 show should not be considered a benchmark. "In the last edition, the biggest defence deal of the year was in process and the show was bound to be extravagant. This year, it was not military hardware but technology and supporting industries that were in focus. As many as 78 countries sent their delegations, compared to a mere 45 in 2011," he said.
