Udupi: Sleuths nab Pick-Pocketers involved in Crime during Congress Coastal District Walkathon

Udupi, 05 Feb 2013: The district police arrested five-member inter-district pick-pocketers who were involved in such crime during walkathon that was organized by KPCC in coastal district recently.
The arrested has been identified as thirty-year-old Tammayya Yane Bagane, forty-two-year-old Lakshma yane Lakshmana,twenty-year-old Ramesh, twenty-six-year-old Venkatesh Yane Kulla Venkatesh and nineteen-year-old Manjunat yane Manja, all are natives of Bhadravati taluk. They were known to professionals in their trade who target crowds during annual festivities in different temples and other occasions.
Udupi circle inspector Maruti G Naikand policemen arrested the group while pick-pocketing a purse from the trouser of Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj.
The pick-pocketers were believed to have stolen several lac of rupees from Congress party activists including DCC chief secretary Narasimhamurti.The police have recovered Rs 79,000 from these pick-pocketers.
Udupi and Malpe police registered a case in this regard.
