Devotees from Belle Village go on Pilgrimage to St Lawrence, Karkal for Successive 8th Year by Foot

Karkal,01 Feb 2013: The devotees regardless of caste, creed and religion of St Lawrence pilgrimage shrine, Attar, here from Moodubelle village have gone on a pilgrimage for the successive eighth year by foot here on Wednesday January 30.

 

It’s significant that even the children and senior citizens also partaken in the pilgrimage journey this year.  It exemplified the communal harmony among devotees of different communities. 

 

 

Belle gram panchayat president Rajendra Shetty, vice president Jacinta D’Souza, TP former president Devdas Hebbar were also present among the pilgrims. 

Sadanand Shetty, Govind Jogi, Karkal TP Rashmi Shetty have provided beverages in different points en-route the journey.

 

Hindu brethren also served water and jaggery for the pilgrims during the stop over.A few pilgrims walked barefoot as a penance to please martyr Saint Lawrence.

 

St Lawrence’s staunch devotee Praneet D’Souza couple provided financial assistance for the pilgrimage journey. Gerald Fernandes and Ivan D’Almeida led the pilgrimage journey.

 

Assistant Fr Lancy conducted the prayers before the pilgrimage journey.
