Shirva Young men’s Sports and Cultural Association Felicitates Veteran Achievers, Distribute Scholar

Udupi, 27 Jan 2013: Shirva Young men’s Sports and Cultural Association organized the felicitation of veteran achievers, distribution of scholarship to talented students and sports personalities, during thirty-eighth annual day celebrations, held at public Ganeshotsav stage, Shirva, near here on Saturday January 26.

 
Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest of Our Lady of Health parish, Shirva in his presidential address, said that cultural, social and sports activities indeed promote communal harmony in Shirva locality.  He also commended the organizers for their concern in this regard.

 

 
The veteran achievers Ratnakaravarni award recipient Padoor Dharmaraj Indra, Karnataka Rajyotsav awardee Dr K R Venkatakrishna and hotelier Kollabettu Ratnakar Shetty Muscat were felicitated during the programme.

 
Shirva Youngmen’s Sports and Cultural Association president Felix Menezes welcomed the gathering.  Secretary Harish Acharya read the annual report.  Neha, Meghashree, Malavika rendered the prayers.  The lecturer Prakash Shenoy and Kollabettu Ravindra Shetty compered the programme.  Satischandra Shetty proposed vote of thanks. 

 
The intellect B Pundalika Marate said that the achievements of veterans and their significant contributions should inspire the new generation to follow in their footsteps, said Pundalika.

 
Kutyar Prasad Shetty, teacher Laxmidevi Shetty read the citation letter.  The women wing president Babita Aras, Vanita D Nayak, the late Sudhakar Kamat Scholarship founder chairman Henry D’Almeida distributed the scholarships to the talented students.
