Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings ever Relevant; Prof K Surendranat Shetty

Udupi, 14 Jan 2013: Swami Vivekanand is a great visionary that the world had ever seen. He was a practical person and never dwelled in illusions. He had greater trust in youth. He dreamt of free-India that would become a super power in the nearest future. He had travelled across the country and neighbouring country Sri Lanka and set the foundation of stronger nation by inspiring youth. His teachings are ever relevant and helpful for youth to develop good cultural upbringing, said Professor Kokkarne Surendranat Shetty.
Professor Shetty was speaking at 150th birth anniversary celebration of Swami Vivekananda held at St Mary’s College campus, Shirva, near here on Saturday January 12.
St Mary’s College principal Dr J C Miranda in his presidential address said that if the youth follow the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, there will be integral development in families, society and the nation.
Professor Pascal D’Sa was also present.
Head of department of Political science Professor S Padmanabha Bhat welcomed the gathering. Professor Vittal Nayak proposed vote of thanks. Professor Ronald Moras compered the programme.
Supreeta read the heroic poetry of Swami Vivekananda at the occasion.
