Udupi: Burglars Strike a House in Padubelle; Decamp Jewellery worth over Rs 1.25 lac

Udupi, 04 Jan 2013: The burglars burgled a house in Padubelle village that comes under the limits of Shirva police station, near here at 3.30am on Thursday January 4.
The burglars struck the house owned by Damodar Samaga located in Padubelle, near here at wee hours of Thursday morning.
A group of 5 masked men threatened the house owner Damodar Samaga and his wife Suma, their twelve-years-old son Sandesh Kumar and daughter Sanjana, with knives and logwood and forced them to part away with all gold ornaments including 2 gold coins and cash money of Rs 10,000, altogether worth over Rs 1.25 lac. The burglars who were conversing in Tamil and Tulu chose this lonely house in the locality.
Shirva sub-inspector K R Naik arrived at the crime spot along with fingerprint experts on Thursday morning. Shirva police registered a case in this regard and investigations under way.
The increasing cases of burglaries and thefts across the coastal district have been causing distress among the citizenry and poses challenges to law enforcing agencies.
